Onda Cocktail Room is a small independent cocktail bar in Lisbon, owned by husband-and-wife team Peter O'Connor and Joana Jaeger. Named Time Out Lisbon's Bar of the Year 2021 and recognised among Lisbon Insiders' Top 5 Cocktail Bars, Onda has become a destination for cocktail lovers from around the world, earning more than 880 five-star Google reviews alongside outstanding ratings on Tripadvisor and Restaurant Guru.
With just 14 indoor seats, every guest enjoys a personal experience built around exceptional cocktails, genuine hospitality and meaningful conversation. Our signature Flavour Discovery Menu showcases innovative techniques, premium ingredients and carefully balanced flavours, offering a unique journey through the world of cocktails.
Peter brings almost three decades of experience from the international drinks industry, including his role as Master of Whisky at Diageo, where he trained bartenders and hospitality professionals, as well as appearances as a bar expert on Bar Rescue. Joana is a classically trained chef, having studied at a French culinary school before moving into front of house, where she brings a chef's approach to flavour, balance and creativity behind the bar.
Together, they created Onda to offer something increasingly rare: an intimate cocktail bar where every drink is made by the owners, every guest is welcomed personally, and every visit is designed to be memorable.

Walked in and opted for the 5 cocktail tasting. WOW. The flight was perfectly curated, each drink was one of the finest examples of its genre I’ve ever had and their unique touches and creative twists deserve a round of applause. On top of that, the two proprietors are sweethearts and masters of their art. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Loveliest staff with great knowledge of the craft. Some of the most impressive and interesting drinks made by people with a true passion for them. There is a truly warm and friendly atmosphere in the space, would highly recommend coming to Onda!

Before opening Onda, Peter served as Master of Whisky for Diageo, where he trained bartenders and hospitality professionals across Europe and USA. He has collaborated on internationally recognised whiskey brands, appeared as a bar expert on Bar Rescue tv show, and trained thousands of professionals throughout his career. Today, he brings that same depth of knowledge, passion for hospitality and relaxed teaching style to every class, creating engaging, hands-on experiences that will deepen your understanding of spirits, cocktails and flavour, while ensuring you have a fantastic time along the way.
